The Spanish football player Fernando Torres scored his career goal in min.32:30 against Germany and gives Spain the highest position in the European Football.
The latest Spanish victory in an European competition was 44 years ago.
This results was not a surprise, because Spain really played football in this tournament and they score more goals and conceded less than any other team in the Euros.
First 10-15 minutes of the game we saw Germany in the control of the ball, but that was all. Spain tool control of the match with their better ball controls, possession and counter attacks.
Spain took the lead (1-0) on 33 minutes when Torres snuck between Philip Lahm and Jens Lehmann to score the victory goal.
The second part of the final we saw the same Spain team in control of the game, and a German captain Michael Ballack very angry and argue almost all time with the referee.
Germany had no ideas and coach Joachim Loew gambled by bringing on target man Kevin Kuranyi when 20 minutes left, but nothing extraordinary improvements can we saw at Germany team.
In the final minutes the brazilian born Spain midfielder Marcos Senna almost capped off a dream tournament with a goal but was unable to connect with substitute Dani Guiza’s excellent cushioned header back across goal.
Germany press in the late of the game with long balls, but even with 3 minutes addition, the Spain remains unbeatable.
After the entire EURO2008 competition there is no doubt that Spain deserved to win this tournament.
We can just congratulate the Spanish coach Luis Aragones and the entire Spanish football team for their efforts.
